Remove or disable fonts in Font Book on Mac
Fonts you remove won’t be available in Font Book or in the Fonts window. If you don’t want to remove a font from your Mac, you can disable it. Disabled fonts remain on your Mac, but aren’t listed in apps or in the Fonts window.
Important: You can’t remove or disable system fonts. See the Apple Support article Fonts included with macOS Catalina.
Remove fonts
Fonts you remove are moved to the Trash and aren’t available in Font Book or in the Fonts window.
In the Font Book app on your Mac, select one or more fonts, press the Delete key, then click Remove.
Disable fonts
In the Font Book app on your Mac, select one or more fonts or font families.
To disable an entire font collection, select it.
Do one of the following:
To disable a font or font family, click the Disable button above the list of fonts, then click Disable.
Note: If you select a system font, both the Disable button and the Disable command in the Edit menu are dimmed.
To enable a font, select it and click the Enable button .
To disable a collection, choose Edit > Disable.
Disabled fonts are dimmed and labeled “Off.” To enable a collection, select it and choose Edit > Enable.
