If Terminal on your Mac beeps as you type
If Terminal is set to emulate a VT-100 terminal, some keys are deactivated on the keyboard. When you press a deactivated key, Terminal beeps to indicate that the character wasn’t accepted. You can change the type of terminal being emulated in Terminal settings.
- Go to the Terminal app  on your Mac. on your Mac.
- Choose Terminal > Settings, then click Profiles. 
- In the Profiles list, select a profile. 
- Click Advanced. 
- Below Terminfo, click the “Declare terminal as” pop-up menu, then choose the type of terminal. 
- Below Input, select checkboxes to adjust keyboard input and Terminal behavior.
