Intro to shortcuts with automations in Shortcuts on Mac

Shortcuts with automations provide a way to run actions based on events such as time of day, arrival at a location, or the opening of an app.

After you create a new shortcut and add an automation, when an event occurs you’ll receive a notification asking you to run the automation.

Automation shortcuts are specific to a device. The automation will be backed up to iCloud but will sync to other devices with the automation disabled.
