If you don’t see a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray drive on Mac
Your Mac may not have an optical drive. To check whether your Mac has a drive, do the following:
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > About This Mac, then click Storage.
Click System Report, then click Disc Burning and review the information for your optical drive.
If you don’t see a drive listed that supports discs in CD, DVD, or Blu-ray format, it means an optical drive isn’t available.
If your Mac doesn’t have a built-in optical drive, you can use another computer’s DVD or CD drive, or use an external optical drive, such as the Apple USB SuperDrive.
