Connect your Mac to the internet using PPPoE
If you use a DSL or cable modem to connect to the internet and your ISP uses PPPoE, you need to enter your account name and the other information you received from your ISP in the Network pane of System Preferences.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network .
Click the Add button at the bottom of the list on the left, click the Interface pop-up menu, then choose PPPoE.
Click the Ethernet pop-up menu choose an interface for the PPPoE service — Ethernet if you’re connecting to a wired network, or Wi-Fi if you’re connecting to a wireless network — give the service a name, then click Create.
Enter the information you received from your ISP, such as account name, password and the PPPoE service name, if your service provider requires it.
If you want to use the PPPoE status icon to connect or disconnect from the Internet, or to open Network preferences, select “Show PPPoE status in menu bar”.
If needed, click Advanced to set additional options, such as DNS or proxy server information, then click OK.
Click Apply.
