Find intersections for equations in Grapher on Mac

In the Grapher app on your Mac, create or open a graph.

Select two equations, then choose Equation > Find Intersection.

In the Find Intersection window, enter the point closest to the intersection in the Initial Value field.

Automatically calculated values appear in the list below the Initial Value field.

Do any of the following:

• View the intersection point on the graph: Select Position.

• Change the colour of the intersection point: Click the colour well next to Position.

In the Grapher app on your Mac, create or open a graph.

Select an equation, then choose Equation > Find Root.

In the Find Root window, click the Find pop-up menu, then choose Root.

Enter the point to evaluate in the Initial Value field.

Automatically calculated values appear in the list below the Initial Value field.

Do any of the following:

• Find the local extremum or the inflection point: Click the Find pop-up menu, then choose what you want to calculate.

• View related equations on the graph: Select equations listed under Display.

• Change the colour of related equations: Click the colour well next to the equation.

• Add selected related equations to the graph: Click Stroke.
