Make calls from other apps on your Mac
You can start a call from another app and have it automatically open in the FaceTime app.
To make calls, you need to sign in to FaceTime and set up your iPhone and Mac for phone calls (if you want to make phone calls in addition to FaceTime video and audio calls).
Go to the app on your Mac where you want to start a call — for example, Calendar or Contacts.
Do one of the following, depending on the app:
Calendar: Open an event, look for an underlined blue phone number in the event details, click the number, then click Call. For a FaceTime video call added to a calendar event, click Join.
Contacts: Select a contact, move the pointer over a phone number, then click or .
If you set up RTT phone calls, you can choose to make an RTT call.
Find My: Open the People list, then select a name. Click , click Contact, then click .
Mail: Place the pointer over a phone number in an email, click , then choose how you want to make the call.
Maps: Click a place of interest, then click .
Messages: See Make calls from Messages.
Reminders: Open the reminders list, click an underlined blue phone number, then click Call.
Safari: Click a phone number on a webpage, then click Call.
Spotlight: Enter the name of a person or place in the Spotlight search field, then click a search suggestion to view in Spotlight. Move the pointer over a phone number, then click .
