Use a Chinese, Hebrew or Islamic lunar calendar on Mac
The Calendar app supports showing Chinese, Hebrew and Islamic lunar calendars. When you turn on a lunar calendar, the lunar calendar dates are listed along with their Gregorian calendar equivalents. The first day of a lunar month is marked with a thin red line. The first day of a lunar year is marked with a thick red line.
You can also view lunar calendar birthdays and holidays.
Turn on a lunar calendar
Go to the Calendar app
on your Mac.Choose Calendar > Settings, then click General.
Select “Show alternate calendar”, then choose one of the lunar calendars from the pop-up menu.
View lunar calendar birthdays
If you enter lunar calendar birthdays for people in the Contacts app, those birthdays appear on your calendar when you enable the Birthdays calendar.
The Lunar Birthday field automatically appears in the Contacts app if your Mac is set to a region that uses lunar calendars. See Change how dates, times and more appear.
If you don’t see the Lunar Birthday field, you can add it to a contact’s card. See Add birthdays to Contacts.
View lunar calendar holidays
You can view lunar holidays on your calendar if you enable the Holidays calendar and set your region to one that observes holidays for the lunar calendar.
