Change page output options before printing on Mac
Some applications, such as TextEdit, have a Page Setup dialog that you can use to specify which printer to use and paper size in the printer. The Page Setup dialog has different options depending on your printer and the app you’re using. Some apps don’t use a Page Setup dialog.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Format For | Choose Any Printer to select settings that you want to use for any printer by default. If the settings are for a specific printer, choose the printer’s name. |
Paper Size | Choose the page size that you’ll be printing on. When you create a new document in this app, the document is automatically formatted to fit this page size. |
Orientation | Choose portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) orientation. |
Scaling | Reduce or enlarge the printout by entering a percentage. If you’re printing a document to a paper size that’s different from the size the document was formatted for, select the “Scale to fit paper size” option in the Print dialog. |
When you print, you see additional options for controlling the appearance of your document in the Print dialog.
