Turn on audio descriptions on your Apple TV

On Apple TV, you can turn on audio descriptions to have scenes in videos described to you.

If the video you're watching includes audio descriptions, you can find them in the Subtitles menu. While watching a video:

  • Apple TV (4th generation): Swipe down on your remote's Touch surface to reveal the Info panel, then swipe right to see the Subtitles panel. Swipe down and select the option that you want to use.
  • Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): Hold down Select on your remote for three seconds to reveal the Subtitles tab. Select the option that you want to use.

Set audio preferences

If you want videos to use audio descriptions by default:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility.
  2. Select Audio Descriptions.
