Mac mini (2024) Battery
Before You Begin
WARNING
INGESTION HAZARD: This product contains a button cell or coin battery.
DEATH or serious injury can occur if ingested.
A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns in as little as 2 hours.
KEEP new and used batteries OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to be swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body.
Warning
Don't connect the computer to an external power source during repair.
After disconnecting from a power source, wait one minute for the battery to discharge before proceeding.
Remove the following part before you begin:
Tools
Adjustable torque driver (10–34 Ncm)
Torx Plus 3IP 25 mm bit
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Important: This model requires a BR1632 battery. Replacement batteries can be purchased from electronics supply retailers.
Removal
Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 3IP bit to remove the two 3IP screws (923-11928) from the battery cover. Then lift the battery cover with the battery off the antenna connector board.
Remove the battery from the battery cover.
Reassembly
Warning: Install only a BR1632 battery. There’s a risk of explosion if the battery is installed incorrectly or replaced with an incorrect type of battery. Dispose of used batteries according to local environmental laws and guidelines.
Insert the battery into the battery cover with the positive (+) side of the battery facing the cover and the negative (–) side of the battery facing up.
Warning: There’s a risk of explosion if the battery is installed incorrectly. Ensure that the battery is installed correctly.
Turn over the battery cover with the battery and position it on the antenna connector board as shown. Align the screw holes in the battery cover with the screw holes in the antenna plate.
Set the torque value on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 10.5 Ncm.
Use the adjustable torque driver and 3IP bit to reinstall the two 3IP screws (923-11928) into the battery cover.
