Work out with Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2

If you have a compatible Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3, Powerbeats Pro 2, or bluetooth-enabled third-party heart rate monitor paired to your device, you can display metrics like your workout time, heart rate, and calories burned as you work out.

Metrics

If you turn Show Metrics on during your workout, Apple Fitness+ will display your workout time, heart rate, calories burned, and other live metrics on your screen. If you turn Show Metrics off, your metrics are still recorded and you can view them in your workout summary once you're done.

To turn metrics on or off during a workout, do one of the following:

  • On your iPhone or iPad, tap a workout, then tap Let's Go to start it. Then, tap the Metrics Editor button, and select or unselect Show Metrics.

  • On Apple TV, tap or use your Apple TV remote to select the Metrics Editor button.

Burn Bar

The Burn Bar lets you compare your effort to others who've done the same workout. Based on your calories burned, the Burn Bar will show whether you're Behind the Pack, In the Pack, Middle of the Pack, Front of the Pack, or Ahead of the Pack. The Burn Bar is available for High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Treadmill, Cycling, and Rowing workouts.

The Burn Bar takes your heart rate into consideration when determining your results. If your heart rate doesn't display, results on the Burn Bar might be impacted. Learn how to get the most accurate measurements using your Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2.
