Create or delete a chart in Keynote for iCloud
You can illustrate data with a 2D or interactive chart. To create a chart, first you choose the type of chart you want (such as column, bar, or pie), then you enter data for the chart in the Chart Data Editor. When you make changes in the Chart Data Editor, the chart updates automatically.
Note: If you import a presentation that contains a 3D chart into Keynote for iCloud, it’s displayed as a 2D chart, but the 3D information is saved. If you later open the presentation using the Keynote app on a Mac, iPhone, or iPad, the chart appears in 3D again.
Add a column, bar, line, area, pie, or donut chart
Click the Chart button in the toolbar, click 2D or Interactive, then select a type of chart.
Note: Only column, bar, scatter, and bubble charts can be interactive.
Click Edit Chart Data.
The Chart Data Editor appears with placeholder data. Each row of data represents a data series that will be plotted on the chart.
Click each cell to enter your own data in the Chart Data Editor.
You can add numbers, dates, or durations in the data cells.
To change whether the rows or columns are plotted as a data series, click one of the buttons in the top-right corner of the Chart Data Editor.
When you’re done entering data, click the X in the top-left corner to close the Chart Data Editor.
Add a scatter chart
Scatter charts display data as points, and they require at least two columns or rows of data (x and y values) to plot values for a single data series.
By default, each data series in a scatter chart shares the x-axis value, and therefore, you need to add only one additional row or column of data to show another data series. If you choose to use independent x-axis values, you need to add two additional rows or columns (x and y) to show another data series.
Click the Chart button in the toolbar, click 2D or Interactive, then click the scatter chart.
Click Edit Chart Data.
The Chart Data Editor appears with placeholder data (shared x-axis values, and three y-axis values). Each colored column represents a data series that will be plotted on the chart.
To change whether rows or columns are plotted as a series, click the rows or columns button in the top-right corner of the Chart Data Editor.
If you don’t want use the same x-axis values for each data series, click the Settings button in the Chart Data Editor, then deselect Share X Values.
Click each cell to enter your own x and y values for the data series.
To add another data series, type a new data series name in the next empty column (or row, if plotting by rows), then press Return.
When you’re done entering data, click the X in the top-left corner to close the Chart Data Editor.
Add a bubble chart
You can use a bubble chart to plot data with three dimensions. Each data series includes a third dimension that conveys the relationship between the compared values (x and y) and a size value (z). The size value determines the size of the bubble.
By default, each data series in a bubble chart shares the x-axis value, and therefore, you need to add only two additional rows or columns to show another data series. If you choose to use independent x-axis values, you need to add three additional rows or columns (x, y, and z) to show another data series.
Click the Chart button in the toolbar, click 2D or Interactive, then click the bubble chart.
Click Edit Chart Data.

To change whether rows or columns are plotted as a series, click the rows or columns button in the top-right corner of the Chart Data Editor.
If you don’t want to use the same x-axis values for each data series, click the Settings button in the Chart Data Editor, then deselect Share X Values.

Click Series at the top of the Format sidebar on the right, click the pop-up menu below Bubble Data, then choose Bubble Area or Bubble Diameter.
To include bubbles with negative values, select the “Show negative bubbles” checkbox.
Delete a chart
Click the chart to select it, then press Delete.
