Find recipes and food stories in Apple News+ on iPhone
In iOS 18.4 or later, Apple News+ subscribers can find curated and personalized food content, including a large catalog of recipes with features like interactive ingredient lists and easy-to-start timers.

Search for and filter recipes
Go to the News app
on your iPhone.
Tap Following at the bottom of the screen, tap Food, then scroll down to see stories and recipes.
The more food content and recipes you read, the more personalized your recommendations are.
Tap Recipe Catalog at the top of the feed or
in the top-right corner, then do any of the following:
Search by recipe title, ingredient, or keyword: Tap the search field, enter a term, then tap Search.
Filter by category: Tap a category, such as Vegetarian.
Add and combine filters: Tap
, tap a filter, then tap Apply.
Remove a filter: Tap
.

Save a recipe
Go to the News app
on your iPhone.
Tap Following at the bottom of the screen, tap Food, then scroll down to browse recipes, or search for and filter recipes.
Do one of the following:
While browsing or viewing search results: Touch and hold the recipe’s image, then tap Save Recipe.
While a recipe is open: Tap Save.
To revisit saved recipes, tap Saved Recipes in the Following list or the Food feed, or tap
in the Recipe Catalog.
To remove a recipe from your saved recipes, touch and hold the recipe, then tap Unsave Recipe.
Prepare a recipe
Go to the News app
on your iPhone.
Tap a recipe to open it. Or, while reading a food story, tap Recipe in the bottom right. If the story has multiple recipes, tap Recipes, then tap the recipe you want to prepare.
Scroll to see the recipe’s ingredients and directions, then tap Ingredients or Directions near the top of the screen to jump between them.
To focus on the directions, tap Cook.
Steps appear in a larger font and the display stays on while you’re preparing the recipe.
You can start a cooking timer when a recipe recommends a length of time (highlighted in color)—for example, the time needed to sauté onions or let a cake rest. Tap
, swipe up or down to adjust the time, then tap Start.
Tip: While viewing directions, you can tap an ingredient to see how much is used in the recipe, without going back to the ingredients list. While viewing ingredients, you can keep track of what you already prepared or used by tapping them.
Note: To make sure you can access the Food feed, Recipe Catalog, and Saved Recipes in Offline Mode, while you’re online go to Settings > Apps > News, tap Automatic Downloads (below News+ Offline Mode), then turn on Food & Recipes.
