Update names or URLs for a FHIR API endpoint
You can change the names and URLs for your organization’s FHIR API endpoints.
Change the name of a FHIR API endpoint
Go to the FHIR API Profile screen for an endpoint.
Click Edit (in the Technical Information section for Health Records).
Edit the FHIR API Name field.
If you have multiple FHIR API endpoints, provide a name that helps you distinguish it from the others. For example, you might name one endpoint “Clinic Care records” and another one “Urgent Care records.”
Click Done.
Change the name of the EHR vendor
Go to the FHIR API Profile screen for an endpoint.
Click Edit (in the Technical Information section for Health Records).
Click the EHR Vendor Deployed field, then select a vendor.
Important: If you intend to change EHR vendors, contact Apple at health_records_support@apple.com for assistance.
Click Done.
Change the FHIR base URL
Go to the FHIR API Profile screen for an endpoint.
Click Edit (in the Technical Information section for Health Records).
Coordinate changes with your EHR vendor representative before making changes to your FHIR base URL.
If the button Request Access Code appears, you need to request a new secure access code in coordination with your EHR vendor. After you enter your valid secure access code, the FHIR base URL provided by your vendor becomes visible in the Technical Information section for Health Records.
If Epic is your EHR vendor, you don’t need to request a new access code to change this field. Instead, log in to the Apple Health page on Open Epic, copy the updated FHIR Base URL, then paste it into the FHIR Base URL field.
Click Done.
Change the patient portal URL
A patient portal URL is the internet address for the homepage of a healthcare organization where patients gain access to their healthcare information.
Go to the FHIR API Profile screen for an endpoint.
Click Edit (in the Health app Listing Details section).
Edit the URL, then click Done.
