Change Wi-Fi settings in Network preferences on Mac
Use the Wi-Fi pane of Network preferences on your Mac to set up and manage your Wi-Fi connection.
To change these preferences on your Mac, choose Apple menu 
, then select Wi-Fi in the service list.
If there’s a lock 
at the bottom left of the Network pane, click it to unlock the preference pane.

Limit IP Address Tracking | Limit IP address tracking by hiding your IP address from known trackers in Mail and Safari. If you subscribe to iCloud+ and have Private Relay turned on in iCloud preferences, it’s turned off when you deselect this option. See Use iCloud Private Relay on Mac. Note: iCloud Private Relay is currently in beta. | ||||||||||
Ask to join new networks | Receive a notification when networks you haven’t joined previously are available. | ||||||||||
802.1X: <profile name> Connect | Join a network protected by 802.1X. This option is available if you have a profile installed for a network protected by 802.1X. | ||||||||||
Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar | Include the Wi-Fi status icon Wi-Fi status is always available in Control Centre. You can also use Dock & Menu Bar preferences to choose whether to include the Wi-Fi status icon in the menu bar. | ||||||||||
Advanced | Set or view additional Wi-Fi options such as preferred Wi-Fi networks, requirements for administrator authorisation, TCP/IP configuration, DNS settings, WINS settings, 802.1X configuration profiles, proxy server settings and hardware settings.
