Export projects in iMovie on iPhone
You can export projects from iMovie on your iPhone or iPad so you can edit them in iMovie or Final Cut Pro on another Apple device.
When you export a project from iMovie on your iPhone or iPad, the project and the media used by the project are saved as a single file you can easily copy, transfer or archive.
Export a project
In the iMovie app on your iPhone, tap a project in the Projects browser, tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, then tap Export Project.
Tap one of the following options:
AirDrop: Share wirelessly to a nearby Apple device using AirDrop.
Save to Files: Save the project to your iPhone, iPad or iCloud Drive.
Mail: Export the project and send it in an email.
Messages: Export the project and send it in a text message.
For more information about each of these methods, see Share your movie as a video file in iMovie on iPhone.
If your version of iMovie for iOS or iPadOS is more recent than your version of iMovie for macOS, you may not be able to open the project using iMovie on your Mac. For more information about using iMovie for macOS, see the iMovie User Guide for Mac.
