Request logs
If your organization supports Health app data Share with Provider, Dashboard View Logs or a Provider Access Log may be helpful for audit purposes or when investigating a security incident at your organization.
Dashboard View Logs
A Dashboard View Log records what Apple Health app data is accessed by a provider through the Apple web app during a single session. A Dashboard View Log identifies who has accessed the dashboard and when, and it includes summary snippets describing the data accessed in top-level views in a machine-readable format that has been compressed to optimize storage.
Dashboard View Logs may assist the investigation of a security incident. Request them from your EHR vendor.
Note: Dashboard View Logs require additional configuration and enablement. Ask your EHR vendor whether it supports Dashboard View Logs.
Provider Access Log
Apple maintains a Provider Access Log, which tracks when a provider accesses their patients’ Apple Health app data for 1 year after a record is accessed. If necessary to investigate a security incident at your organization, you may request a copy of the logs along with instructions for analyzing them. Ask your organization’s Technical Contact or Security Officer to contact Apple at HealthSharingProvider_support@apple.com.
Apple cannot access or view any patient data accessed or viewed by your organization through Health app data Share with Provider.
