Change DNS settings in Network preferences on Mac

Use the DNS pane of Network preferences on your Mac to enter DNS servers and search domains.

To change these preferences on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Network , select a network service in the list on the left, click Advanced, then click DNS.

If there’s a lock at the bottom left of the Network pane, click it to unlock the preference pane.

Option	Description
DNS Servers	List of DNS servers. Add a DNS server to the list: Click the Add button at the bottom of the DNS servers list, then enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address. Remove a DNS server from the list: Select a server in the list, then click the Remove button at the bottom of the DNS servers list.
Search Domains	List of search domains. Add a search domain to the list: Click the Add button at the bottom of the search domains list, then enter the domain name. Remove a search domain from the list: Select a domain name in the list, then click the Remove button at the bottom of the search domains list.
