Fill a layer with a color or gradient in Pixelmator Pro on Mac

The Fill layer style fills the area of a selected layer with a color or gradient.

In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, select a layer in the Layers sidebar.
Select in the Tools sidebar.
In the Style pane, turn on Fill.
In the Fill section, click the first pop-up menu and choose a fill type:
- Color: Adds a solid color fill. Click the color well and choose a color.
- Gradient: Adds a gradient fill. Click the gradient well and choose a swatch. To customize the gradient, adjust the color stops in the gradient fill bar.
- Pattern: Adds a pattern fill based on a source file. To change the default source file, click Choose, then import an image.
To adjust how the fill blends with content below it, do any of the following:
- Drag the opacity slider to adjust fill transparency.
- Click the Opacity pop-up menu, then choose a blend mode.
