Edit vector paths in Pixelmator Pro on Mac
You can refine vector paths in a line or shape by adding or removing anchor points, adjusting their roundness, making them sharp, and moving them.
Make a vector path editable
Before you edit a vector path you must make it editable.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, select any shape or vector path layer in the Layers sidebar.
Select
in the Tools sidebar.
In the canvas, Control-click the selected shape or vector path, then choose Make Editable.
Edit a vector path
After you make a vector path editable, you can move, reshape, or remove its anchor points. An unselected point is outlined in red, and a selected point is solid red.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, make a vector path editable.
Do any of the following:
Add an anchor point: Double-click any part of a vector path between two anchor points.
Remove an anchor point: Click any anchor point, then choose Delete.
Remove multiple anchor points: Drag over multiple anchor points to select them, then choose Delete.
Change a sharp anchor point into a smooth anchor point: Control-click an anchor point, then choose Make Smooth Point.
Change a smooth anchor point into a sharp anchor point: Control-click an anchor point, then choose Make Sharp Point.
Reshape a smooth anchor point: Click a smooth anchor point, then drag the direction handles to reshape its connected paths.
Open a path: Click an anchor point to select it, then Control-click the selected anchor point and choose Divide Path.
Split a path into multiple paths: Shift-click multiple anchor points in a path. Control-click one of the selected anchor points and choose Divide Path. The path between the selected points breaks off from the original path, resulting in two or more paths.
Close an open path: Control-click an open path, then choose Close. Pixelmator Pro draws a straight line from endpoint to endpoint to close the shape.
