iPhone 15 USB-C Connector
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.

Remove the following parts before you begin:
Tools
ESD-safe tweezers
Ethanol wipes
JCIS bit for fixed driver
Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipes
Long JCIS bit
Micro stix bit
Nitrile or lint-free gloves
Nylon probe (black stick)
Super screw bit for fixed driver
Torque driver (green, 0.45 kgf cm)
Torque driver (orange, 0.85 kgf cm)
Torque driver (teal, 0.75 kgf cm)
USB-C charge cable
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Removal
Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.
Use a torque driver and the super screw bit to remove the super screw from the enclosure. Set aside the screw.
Use a torque driver and the Micro stix bit to remove the three trilobe screws from the USB-C connector. Set aside the screws.
Use a torque driver and the JCIS bit to remove one crosshead screw from the USB-C connector. Set aside the screw.
Use a torque driver and the long JCIS bit to remove two crosshead screws from the USB-C connector. Set aside the screws.
Caution: Keep the torque driver at a low angle to avoid stripping the screws.
Lift the end of the USB-C connector flex cable as shown and peel the flex cable off the enclosure. Then remove the USB-C connector from the enclosure.
Reassembly
Use ESD-safe tweezers to remove all residual adhesive from the enclosure, the microphone 4 area, and the USB-C connector port. Use ethanol wipes or IPA wipes to clean these areas.
Ensure that the two grounding clips are still intact. If they've fallen off or shifted, use tweezers to reposition them.
Note: The grounding springs on the grounding clips face the display side of the iPhone.
Remove all of the adhesive liners from the replacement USB-C connector and note the areas where adhesive is present.
Insert a USB-C charge cable into the port on the iPhone. Position the USB-C connector in the enclosure. Then press the USB-C connector into the USB-C charge cable for proper alignment.
Warning: Ensure that the USB-C charge cable isn’t plugged into a power source.
Align the screw holes. Then press the USB-C connector flex cable to the enclosure, paying close attention to the areas where adhesive is present.
Important: To avoid damaging surrounding parts, wearing gloves is recommended.
Use the teal torque driver and long JCIS bit to install two new crosshead screws (923-13234) into the USB-C connector.
Caution: Keep the torque driver at a low angle to avoid stripping the screws.
Remove the USB-C charge cable.
Align the microphone 4 to the left of the speaker seal. Use the black stick to press the microphone 4 into the small indented area in the enclosure.
Use the green torque driver and Micro stix bit to install three new trilobe screws (923-12616) into the USB-C connector.
Use the green torque driver and JCIS bit to install one new crosshead screw (923-13236) into the USB-C connector.
Use the orange torque driver and super screw bit to install one new super screw (923-13235) into the enclosure.
Adhere the main microphone adhesive to the enclosure. Ensure that the alignment of the holes is precise. Press the adhesive for 15 seconds before reinstalling the main microphone.
