Run manual tests
Visually check battery installation. Verify that the battery hasn't expanded to deform or separate the enclosure or battery door. One or more battery cells might have expanded, resulting in pressure on the enclosure or battery door, preventing it from closing or staying closed properly. Inspect the battery for any sign of battery cell puncture, leakage, venting, or cell deformation. If the battery has expanded or is damaged, follow procedures in Beats Troubleshooting Mechanical Issues.
Check the charging port for debris or damage. Physical obstructions within the charging port could hinder the device’s ability to charge. If the charge port shows signs of damage, service Beats Pill. Refer to Service Beats Pill below for details.
Connect Beats Pill to a known good power adapter that's connected to AC power for two minutes to ensure a minimum charge.
Verify that the LED power indicator on Beats Pill illuminates and shows signs of power. Attempt to turn Beats Pill on. If Beats Pill doesn't show signs of power while connected to a power adapter or doesn't turn on while connected to a power adapter, service Beats Pill. Refer to Service Beats Pill below for details. Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
If Beats Pill turns on when connected to its power adapter, verify that it actually charges its internal battery. Check the Beats Pill indicator light for the following patterns:
The indicator light flashes green. This means normal battery and charging.
The indicator light flashes red. This means low battery and charging.
The indicator light turns white for 10 seconds and then ramps down to medium brightness. This means that the battery is fully charged.
If Beats Pill turns on but doesn't charge its internal battery, service Beats Pill. Refer to Service Beats Pill below for details. Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Leave Beats Pill connected to the adapter for at least 10 minutes to charge. Then remove Beats Pill from the power adapter. Operate Beats Pill for a few minutes to verify that its internal battery can hold a charge. If Beats Pill continues to operate for a few minutes after briefly charging, then the issue can’t be duplicated and Beats Pill shouldn't be serviced.
If, after charging for 10 minutes, Beats Pill immediately turns off or loses charge faster than expected when the power adapter is disconnected, service the Beats Pill battery. Refer to Service Beats Pill below for details.
