AI-generated content in Apple News
Labeling
Articles generated by or with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) should be labeled as such, with a byline or co-byline, and must include the corresponding metadata flag. AI may be used as a tool in idea generation, headline generation, research, editing, or reporting without noting its use if the article was composed—and all information vetted—by a journalist.
You may use AI-generated or AI-augmented images, video, and audio to complement a story. For example, an AI video might accompany an article reporting on such media, or a highly stylized AI image could illustrate an article. Clearly label media according to your standards as well.
To maintain reader trust, you are strongly encouraged to include an explanation in AI-generated and AI-assisted articles detailing how you used AI to produce them. Using AI to mislead readers is not allowed and could lead to your channel’s suspension.
