If a disk can’t be repaired
If you see a message saying macOS can’t repair a disk, you may need to reformat it or replace it.
Back up as much of your data as possible, reformat by partitioning the disk, then restore your backed up data. For information about backing up data, see Ways to back up or protect your files.
If you continue to have problems with your disk, it may be physically damaged, and you may need to replace it. For service information, see Find out how to service or repair your Mac.
