What’s new in Logic Pro for iPad 2.1
Quantec Room Simulator
The Quantec Room Simulator plug-in provides advanced digital reverb effects with a high degree of customization. It uses a unique algorithmic reverb technology to replicate how sound waves behave in different acoustic environments, and it includes both the classic QRS and the later YardStick models.
The Quantec technology has been used in studios around the world for countless pop music recordings, radio plays, classical music broadcasts, and movie soundtracks. See Quantec Room Simulator.
Reorder channel strips in the Mixer
You can reorder channel strips in the Mixer by dragging them. You can select multiple channel strips, including nonadjacent ones, and reorder them together. When you reorder channel strips assigned to tracks, the corresponding tracks are reordered in the Tracks area. See Reorder channel strips in the Mixer.
Reorder plug-ins in the Plug-ins area
You can reorder plug-in tiles directly in the Plug-ins area by dragging them, in addition to using Edit mode to quickly reorder or delete multiple tiles. See Reorder plug-ins in the Plug-ins area.
Add your own sample folders to the Browser
You can access your own collections of samples in the Browser and quickly add samples to the Tracks area or to a plug-in such as Sampler or Quick Sampler. You can nest folder locations to create a folder hierarchy. See Add your own loops and samples to Logic Pro.
Other features
New options for Bounce regions in place: The Bounce in Place dialog includes a Destination File pop-up menu with options to bounce regions to a single file, one file per track, or one file per selected region. See Bounce regions in place.
Bypass low frequencies in Beat Breaker: Using the Bypass Below controls, you can set Beat Breaker to bypass frequencies below a chosen threshold while affecting mid and high frequencies. See Beat Breaker Main Editor.
Copy and paste position or length values: You can copy and paste position or length values in the Region inspector to apply the values from one region to another region (or group of regions). You can also copy and paste position values between the display and the Region inspector to move the playhead to the pasted value, or to move regions so that they start at the pasted value. See Copy and paste position and length values.
Regenerate a Session Player performance: In the Session Player Editor, the “Perform Again” button is now called “Regenerate.” The name is shown as text on the button. See Regenerate a Session Player performance.
Loop command in region shortcut menu: In addition to using the Loop switch in the Region inspector, you can loop and unloop a selected region using the Loop command in the region shortcut menu. See Loop regions.
New Lessons: The Lesson Browser includes a lesson on using the Quantec Room Simulator plug-in as well as a What’s New in Logic Pro for iPad 2.1 lesson that walks you through the main new features of the release. Also, the Lesson Browser now features an In Progress row showing lessons that have been started but not completed. See the Use Lessons section of How to get help in Logic Pro.
New sound pack: The Modular Melodies sound pack is available to download from the Sound Library. See Download additional sound packs.
