Add a background color to paragraphs in Keynote for iCloud
You can add a block of color behind a paragraph in a text box or shape to create a highlight effect.
Add a background color to paragraphs
Click in a paragraph or select multiple paragraphs.
If the text is in a text box or shape, double-click to place the insertion point inside it.
Tip: If you don’t want subsequent paragraphs to use the background color, add the color after you press Return to begin a new paragraph, or add the color when you’re finished typing.
In the Format sidebar on the right, click the Layout button near the top.
Select the Paragraph Background checkbox, then choose a color.
A color designed to match your template: Click the color well on the left, then select a color.
Any color: Click the color wheel, then select a color in the color window.
Remove a background from behind paragraphs
Select the paragraphs you want to remove the background color from.
In the Format sidebar on the right, click the Layout button near the top.
Deselect the Paragraph Background checkbox.
If a text box or shape still contains color after removing the paragraph background, it may have a color fill. See Remove a color or image fill.
