Find things to watch
Find things to watch in the Apple TV app by entering search terms or browsing the different content categories.
Search Find TV shows and movies by title, cast, or crew. | Home* Start watching movies, TV shows, and sports in one place. Search in the Apple TV app
Go to the Apple TV app
on your device.Do one of the following:
TV or living room device: Open the sidebar, then select Search.
iPhone or Android device: Tap Search at the bottom of the screen.
iPad, Mac, or Windows computer: Select Search in the sidebar.
Do any of the following:
Navigate down to browse items that appear in trending categories.
Enter a search term in the field.
Select an item to see ratings, descriptions, and purchase or rental information.
Note: Not all devices support on-device transactions, so you may not be able to buy, rent, or subscribe to shows or channels directly. However, you can watch items you’ve already purchased, rented, or subscribed to on another device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Browse in the Apple TV app
Go to the Apple TV app
on your device.Do one of the following:
TV or living room device: Open the sidebar, then select a category.
iPhone or Android device: Tap a category at the bottom of the screen, or tap Home, then scroll down to access menus for MLS or Formula 1.
iPad, Mac, or Windows computer: Select a category in the sidebar.
Do any of the following:
On a TV or living room device, browse featured items at the top of the screen by pressing
to progress through items. Press left on the remote to go back.Select an item in the Continue Watching row to immediately pick up where you left off.
Note: The Continue Watching row on the Home screen displays movies, TV shows, and live sports events from any channel you’ve subscribed to in the Apple TV app.
Scroll down to see top charts, new releases, curated collections, and personalized recommendations.
Highlight and select a row title to see all the items in that category or view more information about a collection.
When you find an item you’re interested in, select it.
When the page for a TV show, movie, or sports event opens, you can play the item (if available), buy, rent, or pre-order the item, add it to your watchlist, or scroll down to view specific episodes, trailers, related items, and additional details.

to view more information.
Catch up with key moments from your favorite shows
If available, you can watch a catch-up summary of what you’ve seen so far for the TV show that you’re following.
Go to the Apple TV app
on your device.Do one of the following:
TV or living room device: Open the sidebar, then select Home or Apple TV.
iPhone or Android device: Tap Home or Apple TV at the bottom of the screen.
iPad, Mac, or Windows computer: Select Home or Apple TV in the sidebar.
Do any of the following:
Scroll down to Catch Up on Your Shows, then select a show to watch the summary.
Browse to a TV show, select it, then select Catch Up.
Select an item in your Continue Watching row, then select Catch Up.
Note: The Catch Up button only appears if it’s available for that TV show.
Explore Genius Browse (TV or living room devices only)
Go to the Apple TV app
on your TV or living room device.Open the sidebar, then do either of the following:
Select Search, enter a search term in the field, then navigate to the TV Shows or Movies tab to browse related content.
Select Home, then do either of the following:
Navigate down to the Genius Browse row, then select a collection.
Navigate to a movie or TV show, press and hold the center button on the remote, then select Genius Browse from the pop-up menu.
Suggested titles appear onscreen.
Optional: To customize results, navigate to Customize, then do any of the following:
Select For You to add or remove additional profiles (if available) to your suggestions.
Select TV Shows & Movies to filter by TV Shows or Movies.
Select All Genres to filter by genre.
Browse suggested titles, or navigate down to generate additional results.
Add or remove an item from the Continue Watching or Watchlist rows
When you add movies and TV shows to your watchlist for later viewing, they appear in the Continue Watching and Watchlist rows.
Note: When you add sports events, they appear in the Continue Watching and Watchlist rows when they’re live.
Go to the Apple TV app
on your device.To add an item to your watchlist, do one of the following:
TV or living room device: Navigate to an item anywhere in the Apple TV app, press and hold the center button of the remote, then select Add to Watchlist.
iPhone, iPad, or Android device: Touch and hold the item, then tap Add to Watchlist.
Mac or Windows computer: Select an item to see more information, then click
.
To remove an item from your watchlist, do one of the following:
TV or living room device: Navigate to an item in your Continue Watching or Watchlist row, press and hold the center button of the remote, then select Remove from Watchlist.
iPhone, iPad, or Android device: Touch and hold the item in the Continue Watching or Watchlist row, then tap Remove from Watchlist.
Mac or Windows computer: In the Continue Watching row, select
within an item’s thumbnail image, then choose Remove from Watchlist.
Tip: If you’re viewing a page for a movie or TV show, you can add it to your watchlist by selecting
or Add to Watchlist. If the item is already in your watchlist, select the checkmark to remove it.
