Add a device to your AppleCare One plan

To add your device to your AppleCare One plan, it needs to be associated with your Apple Account.

For AppleCare One Individual, you need to manually choose the devices you want to cover, and you can swap covered devices or buy Add-on Subscriptions to cover more devices. Some devices might require device checks, and others might not be eligible to add to your plan.

When purchasing a product from Apple, you can choose to add your new device to your AppleCare One Individual plan. If your plan is already covering three or more devices, you can swap covered devices or add more devices to your plan at an additional cost.

Add devices to your AppleCare One Individual plan online, or use a device associated with your Apple Account that meets these requirements:

  • iPhone with iOS 18.5 or later

  • iPad with iPadOS 18.5 or later

  • Mac with macOS 15.5 or later

  • Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 2.5 or later

Add devices or swap covered devices in your AppleCare & Warranty settings.

  1. Open Settings, then General, then AppleCare & Warranty on your device

  2. In the AppleCare One Devices section, select Add Device.

  3. Next, choose the device you want to add.

    • If the device appears under Ready to Add, follow the onscreen prompts to add it to your plan.3

    • If the device appears under Action Needed, you might need to complete a device check before it can be added to your plan.

    • If you don’t see one of your devices, tap or click “Don't see one of your devices?” to find out more. If you still don’t see your device in the “Not Eligible for Plan” section, you might need to sign in to your Apple Account on that device or pair it with one of your other Apple devices associated with your account.

Understand AppleCare One eligibility

Device eligibility for AppleCare One coverage might be impacted by several circumstances.

  • The age of your device

  • A failed device check4

  • The country or region of device purchase

  • Active service in progress

  • Marked as lost and Lost Mode is turned on

  • Coverage by another AppleCare product5

  • Device is not associated with your Apple Account6

If you are unable to add your device to your plan, refer to the message on your device for more information.

Remove a device from your AppleCare One plan

When you remove a device from your AppleCare One plan, that device will immediately lose coverage. You might be able to add the device back to your AppleCare One plan or get new AppleCare coverage later if you change your mind. For AppleCare One Individual, if you have Add-on Subscriptions, removing any device from your AppleCare One plan will cancel an Add-on Subscription.

If you sign out of your Apple Account on a device that is covered by an AppleCare One plan, and another Apple Account signs in to the device, the device will be removed from your AppleCare One plan after 24 hours.

Remove a device

You can sign in to your Apple Account and remove a device from your plan online. Or, you can remove a device in the AppleCare & Warranty settings on your device.
