Watch videos in News on Mac
Many stories in Apple News include videos, and the Top Videos group in the Today feed presents interesting videos from the day.
Play videos in stories
In the News app on your Mac, in a video, click .
To show the video controls, move the pointer over the video.
Do any of the following:
Pause the video: Click .
Mute the volume: Click in the top-right corner of the video.
Adjust the volume: Click and hold , then drag the slider.
Change subtitle and closed caption settings: Click , then choose options.
Advance or rewind the video: Click anywhere in the timeline or drag the slider.
Expand or collapse the video: Click in the top-left corner of the video to fill the News window. To return to the previous size, click .
When the video is expanded, you can jump ahead 15 seconds (click ) or rewind 15 seconds (click ).
Close the video: Click in the top-left corner of the video.
Play videos in Top Videos
In the News app on your Mac, click Today in the sidebar (if you don’t see it, click in the toolbar).
In the Top Videos group, click in a video.
To show the video controls, move the pointer over the video.
Do any of the following:
Pause the video: Click .
Mute the volume: Click in the top-right corner of the video.
Adjust the volume: Click and hold , then drag the slider.
Change subtitle and closed caption settings: Click , then choose options.
Advance or rewind the video: Click anywhere in the timeline or drag the slider.
Share the video: Click in the top-right corner of the video.
Jump to the next or previous video: Click or .
Close the video: Click in the top-left corner of the video.
