Intro to creating projects in iMovie on iPhone
With iMovie, you can easily turn your videos and photos into high-resolution movies and Hollywood-style trailers. iMovie can create a movie for you or guide you through the process of building your masterpiece with premade video templates. You can also use the powerful iMovie editing tools to create the perfect movie from scratch.
There are three types of projects you can create in iMovie:
Magic Movie: Choose your video clips and photos, then let iMovie create your movie, complete with a soundtrack, transitions between clips, and more. After your Magic Movie project has been created, you can add titles, apply a filter, and edit individual video clips and photos to completely customize your Magic Movie. See Create a Magic Movie project in iMovie on iPhone.
Storyboard: Choose from a selection of storyboards—premade templates for common types of videos like cooking tutorials, product reviews, or science experiments—to help you get started. Each storyboard includes a flexible shot list that provides a step-by-step guide to the clips you need to capture to make your video, as well as titles, transitions, and music to match. See Create a storyboard project in iMovie on iPhone.
Movie: Create a movie project when you want to manually organize your video clips and photos. Use intuitive and powerful timeline tools to organize, combine, and edit your clips, then add animated titles, music, filters, and effects. See Create a movie project in iMovie on iPhone.
Note: To start using iMovie, you must allow access to your photo library and music library. To record in iMovie, you also need to allow access to your camera and microphone. To change these permissions later, see Control access to hardware features and Control access to information in apps in the iPhone User Guide.
