Turn Voice Control on or off on Mac
With Voice Control on your Mac, you can use your voice to navigate the desktop and apps, interact with what’s on the screen, dictate and edit text, and more.
Turn Voice Control on or off
When you turn on Voice Control for the first time, your Mac must be connected to the internet so it can complete a one-time file download from Apple. After this download is complete, you don’t need an internet connection to use Voice Control.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Accessibility in the sidebar, then click Voice Control on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
Turn Voice Control on or off.
appears in the menu bar. When the one-time file download is complete and Voice Control is ready to use, the icon changes to to indicate that Voice Control is listening for commands.
You can also use Siri.
Siri: Say: “Turn on Voice Control” or “Turn off Voice Control.” Learn how to use Siri.
You can set up Voice Control to turn on automatically in the login window.
