Set up and use Apple Cash in Wallet on iPhone
With Apple Cash (available in the U.S.), you can send, request, and receive money in the Wallet app or Messages app
, get cash back from Apple Card transactions, make purchases, and transfer your Apple Cash balance to your bank account.

Set up Apple Cash
Open the Wallet app
on your iPhone.
Tap the Apple Cash card, then tap Set Up Now.
You can also do the following:
Go to Settings
> Wallet & Apple Pay, then turn on Apple Cash.
In Messages, send or accept a payment.
Make purchases with Apple Cash using Apple Pay
You can use Apple Cash at locations that accept Visa and support Apple Pay:
Some stores may require a PIN to complete transactions with Apple Cash.
Apple Cash doesn’t require a PIN because every payment is authenticated by Face ID, Touch ID, or a secure passcode. However, some terminals may still require you to enter a four-digit code to complete the transaction. To see your PIN, tap , then tap Card Details.
Make purchases with the virtual card number
In iOS 17.4 or later, you can also use Apple Cash in apps or on the web where Apple Pay isn’t yet accepted.
In Wallet, tap the Apple Cash card, tap
, then tap Card Number.
View the card number, expiration date, and security code. Use this information to make your purchase.
Tip: You can automatically enter this information and see your Apple Cash balance when you use Safari AutoFill.
Send payments with Apple Cash
You can send a one-time payment or a recurring payment that repeats every week, every other week, or every month.
Open the Wallet app
on your iPhone.
Tap the Apple Cash card, then tap Send or Request.
Enter a recipient or choose a recent contact.
Enter the amount, then choose one of the following:
A one-time payment: Tap Send.
Repeating payments: Tap Send Recurring Payment, set the start date, and choose the frequency of the payments. You can also add a memo and choose an icon (optional).
Add a comment if you want, then tap
.
Review the information, then authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
You can also send or request payments in Messages.
Request payments with Apple Cash
Open the Wallet app
on your iPhone.
Tap the Apple Cash card, then tap Send or Request.
Enter a recipient or choose a recent contact.
Enter the amount, then tap Request.
Add a comment if you want, then tap
.
Review pending requests
In Wallet, tap the Apple Cash card.
Tap a pending request, then do any of the following:
Send the payment: Tap Send Money.
Hide or decline the request: Tap
, then choose Dismiss Request or Decline Request. If you dismiss the request, you’ll receive a reminder one day before the request expires.
View your balance and transactions
In Wallet, tap the Apple Cash card to view your balance and latest transactions. Scroll down to see your transactions grouped by year.
Do any of the following:
Search your transactions: Tap
, enter what you’re looking for, then tap Search on the keyboard. You can also choose a suggested search, such as a category, merchant, location, or contact, then enter additional text to refine your search.
Get a statement: Tap
, tap Card Details, scroll down, then tap Request Transaction Statement.
Manage your Apple Cash
In Wallet, tap the Apple Cash card, tap , then tap any of the following:
Add Money: Add funds from a debit card in Wallet. You can also set up Auto Reload.
Transfer to Bank: See the Apple Support article Transfer money in Apple Cash to your bank account or debit card.
Recurring Payments: Tap a recurring payment to see the details. You can also edit the payment details and pause or cancel the payment.
Card Details: Update your bank account information, turn Express Transit on or off, manage Apple Cash Family, and more.
Notifications: Turn notifications on or off.
