Snap to items in the timeline in Final Cut Pro for iPad
When snapping is turned on, items you move in the timeline appear to jump, or “snap,” directly to certain points. This can help you quickly line up edits with other items in the timeline. For example, snapping makes it easier and quicker to align a video clip with an audio clip, position the playhead at a particular edit point, or connect a clip at the exact start of a clip underneath.
Several elements trigger snapping in the timeline:
Clip boundaries (start and end points)
The playhead
Turn on snapping
Go to the Final Cut Pro app
on your iPad.Open a project, then do one of the following:
Tap
at the top of the timeline, so that the button is highlighted.Tap
in the top-right corner of the timeline, then turn on Snapping. When you’re finished, tap outside Timeline Options.Press N on a connected or paired keyboard.
To turn off snapping, tap at the top of the timeline, so that the button is no longer highlighted, or tap in the top-right corner of the timeline and turn off Snapping.
