Use gestures in Ink on Mac
Gestures are characters or shapes that are used as shortcuts when writing text, or as special keys (such as the Enter key).
When you use gestures in the Ink app on your Mac, try the following suggestions:
Leave a space at least twice as large as usual to clearly separate a gesture from a preceding word.
Exaggerate the length of the tail portion to distinguish it from letters.
If a gesture interferes with your handwriting style, deselect it in the Gestures pane of Ink preferences.
Wait until a preceding word is recognised before writing a gesture.
Some gestures, such as Join, work only in the Ink pad or in apps that are compatible with Ink.
The Gestures pane of Ink preferences shows available gestures and how to write them. To open the pane, choose Apple menu 
> System Preferences, click Ink, then click Gestures.
