Take a tour of MacBook Pro
Before you get started with your new MacBook Pro, here’s a quick introduction to its buttons, features, and ports.

Get to know your ports
Your MacBook Pro comes with one MagSafe 3 port, three Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports, one HDMI port, and one SDXC card slot.
Charge your MacBook Pro. Use the MagSafe 3 port and the included USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable to charge your MacBook Pro. You can also connect a USB-C Charge Cable to any of the Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports.
Transfer data, photos, and video. Your MacBook Pro comes with three Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports for you to connect accessories and displays. If you have MacBook Pro with M5, you have Thunderbolt 4 ports that can transfer data at 40 Gbit/s. MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max has Thunderbolt 5 ports that can transfer data at 120 Gbit/s.
You can also insert a SD card into the SDXC card slot to quickly transfer photos and videos right from your camera.
Connect an accessory to your MacBook Pro. Use any of the Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports to connect and charge accessories—like an iPhone or headphones.
Connect a display to your MacBook Pro. You can use any of the Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports or the HDMI port to connect your MacBook Pro to external displays, as well as a projector or HDTV. See Connect an external display to MacBook Pro.
Use an adapter to connect a device. If your device has a connector that doesn’t match the port on your MacBook Pro, you can use an adapter. See Adapters and cables for your MacBook Pro.
