Spotlight settings on Mac
On your Mac, use Spotlight settings to change the categories that appear in Spotlight search results.
Browse through the options below for details about customizing your Spotlight settings.
To open these settings, choose Apple menu in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

Show Related Content | Allow content from Apple partners to be shown when searching or when looking up text or objects and photos. For more information, click About Search & Privacy. | ||||||||||
Reset Quick Keys | Restore Spotlight quick keys to their default settings. See Assign quick keys for actions or shortcuts. | ||||||||||
Spotlight Search History | To delete all history associated with Spotlight search, click Delete Search History, then click Delete. | ||||||||||
Help Apple Improve Search | Help improve Search by allowing Apple to store your Safari, Siri, Spotlight, Lookup, and #images search queries. The information collected is stored in a way that does not identify you and is used to improve search results. Searches include general knowledge queries and requests to do things like play music and get directions. Results from Apps | Turn on the apps if you want them and their content to appear in Spotlight search results. See Select result categories for Spotlight on Mac. | ||||||||||

Clipboard Search | Turn on if you want to allow the contents of your Clipboard to appear in Spotlight search results. | ||||||||||
