Download a document in Pages for iCloud
You can download a document from Pages for iCloud to your computer in Pages, PDF, Microsoft Word, or EPUB format. This is useful when you need to open a document with another application or send it to people who use different software.
Do one of the following:
With the document open: Click the More button in the toolbar, then choose Download a Copy. Or, if you’re working with a shared document set to View Only, click the Download button .
In the document manager: Select the document, click the More button , then choose Download a Copy.
Note: If the document is password protected or if you want to download a copy in EPUB format, you can only download with the document open, as described in the first bullet above.
Select a format for the document; to make it possible to read your document in an ebook reader (such as Apple Books) or to publish it on Apple Books, choose EPUB.
If you chose EPUB, choose your options, then click Download.
Title and Author: Enter the title and author you want viewers to see if you publish the book on Apple Books.
Cover: Use the first page of the document or choose an image file.
Layout: If this is a word-processing document, choose a fixed layout to preserve the layout of the page, or a reflowable layout so readers can adjust the font size and style (which may change how much content is visible on each page).
If it’s a page layout document, it can be exported only with a fixed layout.
Category and Language: Click Advanced, then assign an Apple Books category for the EPUB and indicate the language of the document.
The document is downloaded to the location set in your browser’s settings. For example, to see or change the download location for Safari on a Mac, choose Safari > Settings (on macOS Ventura 13 or later) or Safari > Preferences (on macOS 12 or earlier), click General, then look for the “File download location” pop-up menu.
