Set up and switch to the Ainu input source
You can type Japanese using the Ainu input source.
Enable the Ainu input source: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard, then click Input Sources. Next click the Add button
, select Ainu, then click Add.
Switch to the Ainu input source: Click the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose it.
Note: If your Mac has a Touch Bar, you can customize the Control Strip by adding the Input Sources button
