3. Run tests
Testing consists of two parts. First, you rerun the test for your Health Records FHIR API endpoint, and second, you test the connectivity between the Health app and your EHR application.
Go to the FHIR API Profile screen for the endpoint.
Click Start Test.
Before the test begins, you must authorize Apple to access your test patient data, as described next.
Click Redirect, then on your organization’s patient portal page, enter the user name and password for your test patient account.
After the test account authentication is verified, click Return on the FHIR API profile screen.
The test verifies the availability of your FHIR API endpoint and its test patient data. The test should finish within a few minutes. (See Test your FHIR API endpoint.)
Note: The test patient data is used only for testing the connection between your EHR application and the Health app. The data won’t be available to view in your EHR application.
If the FHIR API endpoint test is successful, click Continue.
Next, you’ll test the connectivity between the Health app and your EHR application.
Go to your EHR application, sign in with credentials that allow chart access to the test patient data, then find and select your test patient.
On the chart for the test patient, click the tab, button, or link for Apple Health app Data.
The test starts automatically in your EHR application.
After the test has successfully completed, you can view a training environment for your providers by clicking Access Training Environment in your EHR application. You can also view this environment later when you share a link to the Health app training environment with your providers.
After the test in the EHR application has successfully completed, return to the FHIR API Profile screen, then click Get Test Results.
Click View Test Results near the top of the screen.
Recommended actions may appear in the results. Although these actions aren’t required, you should perform them as soon as possible to provide the best experience for your patients and providers.
After examining the test results, click Review.
Read the recommended security best practices, answer the onscreen survey, then click Send for Review near the top of the screen.
