Import media using Home Sharing in the Apple TV app on Mac
Using Home Sharing, you can import purchased movies and TV shows to multiple Mac computers in your home.
Note: To use Home Sharing, you must have an Apple ID.
Import items from other libraries using Home Sharing
When you have Home Sharing enabled on multiple computers, you can import purchased, downloaded movies and TV shows from the media library of one computer to another. You can import from up to five different libraries.
On the Mac you want to import from, turn on Home Sharing and open the Apple TV app .
On the Mac you’re importing to, make sure Home Sharing is on, then open the Apple TV app and click Library at the top of the window.
In the sidebar, click the arrow next to Library, then choose a shared library.
Click the Show pop-up menu at the bottom of the TV window, then choose “Items not in my library.”
Select the items you want to import, then click Import.
Automatically import new purchases from another computer
Any time you download an item you’ve purchased to a computer in your Home Sharing network, you can have the item download automatically to the other computers in the network as well.
In the Apple TV app on your Mac, click Library at the top of the window.
In the sidebar, click the arrow next to Library, then choose a shared library.
Click Settings at the bottom of the window.
Select the types of content you want to automatically import, then click OK.
If a shared computer doesn’t appear when Home Sharing is on, turn Home Sharing off on both computers, then turn it on again.
