Apple app certification background
Apple actively engages in the provision of security assurance of apps created by Apple using appropriate Common Criteria Protection Profiles (PPs).
Validation of conformance can be performed only against a final released version of an app.
In 2018, Apple initiated application security evaluations for key apps using iOS 11 with the Safari browser and Contacts apps. Since then, Apple has continued these apps evaluations on iOS and iPadOS. In 2022, coverage was added for apps using macOS.
Cryptographic module certification status
