Block and unblock channels and topics in News on Mac
If you don’t want stories from certain channels or topics to appear in the Today or other feeds in Apple News, you can block the channels or topics. If you change your mind later, you can unblock them.
Note: Apple News isn’t available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.
Block channels or topics
In the News app on your Mac, do any of the following:
Block a channel or topic in the sidebar: Select the channel or topic in the sidebar (if you don’t see the sidebar, click in the toolbar), then choose File > Block Channel or File > Block Topic. Or click the Share button in the toolbar, then choose Block Channel or Block Topic.
Block a channel or topic in the Today feed: Next to the channel or topic’s name, click the More Actions button , then choose Block Channel or Block Topic.
When you block channels and topics, Apple News better understands your interests and can recommend stories that more closely match them.
Unblock channels or topics
In the News app on your Mac, choose File > Manage Blocked Channels & Topics.
Click the Remove button for a channel or topic, then click Unblock.
Click Done.
When you browse Top Stories and other locations that feature stories curated by Apple News editors, placeholders may be shown for stories from channels you blocked. To read a story from a blocked channel, click Show Story Anyway.
