What happens when you mark an item as a favorite
Marking an album as a favorite adds it—as well as all individual tracks—to your library.
Marking a recording as a favorite adds it to your library. (The recording’s tracks aren’t marked as favorites nor are they added to your library.) Additionally, the recording is automatically added to the Favorite Songs playlist (below Playlists in your library).
Marking an artist (such as a conductor, soloist, orchestra, or choir) as a favorite adds them to both your Apple Music Classical library and your Apple Music library.
Tip: You can use the Apple Music app to download albums, playlists, or tracks that you added to your library. You also use the Apple Music app to listen to downloaded music when you’re not connected to the internet. See the Apple Support article Add and download music from Apple Music.
