Create articles in Apple News Format
Apple News Format is a custom JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format—a standard data format that’s easy for computers to work with and also easy for humans to read. See the Apple News Format website.
To create Apple News Format articles, do any of the following:
Use a content management system (CMS) that’s connected to News Publisher via the Apple News API. See Use your CMS with News Publisher.
Use a text editor and upload the articles to News Publisher. To learn how to hand code Apple News Format articles—or, if you’re using your own CMS and you’re new to JSON or Apple News Format—see Creating an Article: Main Steps and Apple News Format Tutorials on the Apple Developer website.
If your member role is Administrator, Editor in Chief, or Editor, you can create articles right in News Publisher, starting from a template and adding your own content. Articles created in News Publisher appear in a web browser if they’re opened on a device without the News app. See Create an article with News Publisher.
Using any method to create Apple News Format articles, they’re automatically formatted for viewing on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
