Block channels or topics

In the News app on your Mac, do any of the following:

  • Block a channel or topic in the sidebar: Select the channel or topic in the sidebar (if you don’t see it, click the Sidebar button in the toolbar), then choose File > Block Channel or File > Block Topic. Or click the Share button in the toolbar, then choose Block Channel or Block Topic.

  • Block a channel or topic in the Today feed: Next to the channel or topic’s name, click the More icon , then choose Block Channel or Block Topic.

The Sports topic from the Today feed, with the Follow and More icons on the right.

When you block channels and topics, Apple News better understands your interests and can recommend stories that more closely match them.

Unblock channels or topics

  1. In the News app on your Mac, choose File > Manage Blocked Channels & Topics.

  2. Click the Remove button for a channel or topic, click Unblock, then click Done.
