Add text on a path in Pixelmator Pro on Mac
You can add text to a vector path or shape.
Add text on a freeform path
Use the Freeform Type tool draw a freeform path and insert text along it.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, choose Tools > Type > Freeform Type.
Draw a path in the canvas, as you would with the Freeform Pen tool, then press Return.
Double-click the placeholder text, then type in the text box.
Optional: Shift-drag one of the text box handles to move the text along the path.
When you’re finished typing, click outside of the text box.
If the text box is too small to display all the text you entered, drag the clipping indicator to show more text.
Tip: After you add text to a path, you can transform, flip, or rotate the path by Control-clicking the path and choosing an option from the shortcut menu.
Add text on a path drawn with anchor points
Use the Path Type tool to draw a vector path with anchor points and insert text it.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, choose Tools > Type > Path Type.
Click in the canvas to create a path with anchor points, as you would with the Pen tool, then press Return.
Double-click the placeholder text, then type in the text box.
Optional: Click the text again to activate the text box, then Shift-drag one of the text box handles to move the text along the path.
When you’re finished typing, click outside of the text box.
Add text on circular path
Use the Circular Type tool to add curved or circular text lines.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, choose Tools > Type > Circular Type.
Draw a circle on the canvas, as you would with the Shape tool.
Double-click the placeholder text, then type in the text box.
Optional: Shift-drag one of the text box handles to move the text along the path.
When you’re finished typing, click outside of the text box.
Add text around the outline of an existing shape
You can use the basic Text tool to add text along the outline of an existing shape.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, Shape tool.
Select
in the Tools sidebar.
In the canvas, move the pointer near the inner or outer edge of the shape, and when the pointer changes to
, click in the canvas.
Double-click the placeholder text, then type in the text box.
Optional: Shift-drag one of the text box handles to move the text along the path.
When you’re finished typing, click outside of the text box.
