Intro to settings in GarageBand on Mac
Use GarageBand settings to define and modify options that apply to all projects. Whenever you quit the application, these settings are automatically saved to a general settings file named com.apple.garageband10.plist in the ~/Library/Preferences folder. You can’t edit this file directly. Any changes must be made in GarageBand. If you delete a settings file, a new one is created the next time you open GarageBand, with all settings reset to their default values.
Open GarageBand settings
In GarageBand on Mac, choose GarageBand > Settings or press Command-Comma, then click a settings pane.
