Choose settings in the Print dialog on Mac
After you choose File > Print, the Print dialog appears so you can select a printer and set print options. The Print dialog shows different options depending on your printer and the app you’re using. If you see a Show Details button, click it to see all the available options.

Option | Description |

Printer pop-up menu | Choose a printer from the Printer pop-up menu. If you don’t see the printer you want, choose Add Printer, then follow the onscreen instructions to set up a printer. You may see an icon next to a printer’s name. For information about the icons and their meanings, see Check a printer’s status. |
Presets pop-up menu | You can save a group of print settings as a preset, then choose the preset from the pop-up menu to use the settings again for other print jobs. |
Copies | Specify the number of copies to print. |
Pages | The range of pages to print. |
Black & White | Print in black and white. This option appears only if your printer supports black and white printing. |
Two-Sided | Print on both sides of the paper (also called “duplex printing”). This option appears only if your printer supports two-sided printing. |
Paper Size | Specify the size of paper you’re using. Make sure the size of the paper you choose is loaded in the printer. |
Orientation | Choose whether to print a document in portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) orientation. |
Print options pop-up menu | Choose settings for paper handling, color matching, and more. The options in this pop-up menu, and the ones below it, change depending on your printer and the app you’re using. |
PDF pop-up menu | Instead of printing, create a PDF or PostScript file. For information about creating a PDF, see Save a document as a PDF. |
Show Details/Hide Details | See all the options, or a simplified view. |
