About Schoolwork assessments
Assessments provide a way for you to measure a student’s understanding of a concept, topic or lesson. Using Schoolwork, you can transform your existing assessment documents into interactive Schoolwork assessments. After students turn in their assessments, use Schoolwork to score and analyse the results in detail to assess student understanding, determine future instruction, and evaluate which students might need a little extra help.
With assessment mode, depending on the level of focus required by your students, you can specify an assessment as open book or closed book.
An open book assessment creates a more open test environment; allowing students to use other resources and apps outside of Schoolwork while they work on their assessment. With open book assessments, more advanced features of assessment mode are not needed.
A closed book assessment creates a more secure test environment; preventing students from using other resources or leaving the assessment until they turn in their work. A closed book assessment locks student iPads into Schoolwork. iPads are unlocked when students turn in their work, or after eight hours.
You can send an assessment to an entire class or to one or more students in a class, schedule an assessment to send at a later time, or save an assessment as a draft until you are ready to send at a later time.
If you have multiple teachers in your class, assessments you send or schedule are visible and editable by all teachers. Draft assessments are only visible to you.
Note: You need an Internet connection to send an assessment. If your Internet connection is interrupted, you can save your assessment as a draft to send at a later time.
